Meet Our Board

Maria Jobin-Leeds (she/her)

Board Member

Maria is seasoned in national politics and has spent two decades supporting community organizing and political power building. She is founding Chair of The Partnership for Democracy and Education, whose alliance of projects, partners, and staff includes: Access Strategies Fund, Maria’s List, the Schott Fund, When We Fight, We Win, and our Impact Investments with the endowments. Together, the projects support frontline organizations’ leadership and help organize funders towards shared values and vision of a vibrant, thriving, and inclusive democracy and solidarity economy.

Our focus is community based organizations in underrepresented, low-income, communities of color and women’s communities helping make their voices heard in the creation of sound public policies. This collaborative, movement building work has produced large increases in voter turnout in urban African American, Latino and immigrant communities particularly in Massachusetts. Her current focal question is how to harness the investments to help the grantee partners and move towards a solidarity economy, growing community wealth and political power.

Maria is a WDN Action board member with extensive board leadership experience in national and state based democracy and education funds including most recently the Proteus Fund Action League.
